Common questions

Where do I get the app? Aplomb is on the App Store, free to download, for iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The safety check, Learn articles, diary and first guided session are free; continued guided sessions are unlocked with an in-app purchase.
The voice can't confirm my position. Hold the phone flat against your cheek like a phone call, screen toward your skin, and redo the two slow nods when asked — that's how Aplomb learns how the phone sits against your head. Re-seat the phone and nod again if you changed grip mid-session.
Which ear should I choose? The ear your clinician named. If nobody has named one, Aplomb offers the gentler routine instead — and the honest advice that a clinician's positional test is the fastest way to a targeted maneuver.
Where is my data? On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you're signed in. There is no account and no server of ours. Settings → Export gives you everything as a file; Settings → Erase everything deletes it all, including the iCloud copy. See the privacy policy.
How do purchases and refunds work? All payments are handled by the App Store, so restores happen with "Restore purchases" on the plans screen, and refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Something feels medically wrong. Stop using the app and seek medical care. Aplomb is a guidance and education tool, not a medical device — sudden hearing loss, severe headache, double vision, slurred speech, weakness or numbness, chest pain, or continuous (rather than positional) vertigo all belong in front of a clinician now, not in an app.
